Some of the most important hygienic practices that one can do in order to avoid acquiring athlete&#039;s foot include: wearing clean cotton socks, drying feet well before wearing socks and shoes, using a different towel for the feet and body, wearing the right footwear in public areas like gym, public shower rooms, etc., allowing the feet to &quot;breathe&quot; by wearing slippers or sandals. 

If athlete&#039;s foot is already contracted, it is best to immediately seek medical help to properly address the condition. However, if seeing a doctor is not an option (as there are people who do not want to see as specialist), there are various home remedies that can be used to address athlete&#039;s foot such as garlic and tea tree oil.
